The Kure Keys Motel

Large Map

No matter where you're coming from, getting to Kure Beach couldn't be easier. From the West, simply take I-40 or NC 74 - whichever is more convenient - east; from the North, take I-95 to Benson, NC, then follow I-40 east until it ends. As I-40 ends, it becomes NC 132--College Road in Wilmington, NC. Follow 132 south and it ends at US 421, then proceed on US 421. From the South, follow US 17 north or I-95 north to US 74, then take US 74 east to US 421. Either way, once you reach US 421 all you have to do is keep going straight.

From closer by, you can use US 421 to come into Wilmington; this is convenient if you're coming from the Clinton, NC, area. From the North--New Bern, NC or Norfolk, VA--it may be more convenient to use US 17. When US 17 intersects with NC 132 in Wilmington, take 132 south (left). From the South--Myrtle Beach, SC--take US 17 North until it intersects with 421 just outside of Wilmington, then take 421 south to the beach (right). From the West--Charlotte, Lumberton, Southern Pines--you can take US 74, which joins US 17 just before they intersect with US 421.

From the Wilmington-New Hanover County airport, go east to NC 132 (College Road), then take a right and go south to the beach towns. From the Southport, NC, area, a ferry can be taken across the river to Fort Fisher; Kure Beach is just a few miles north of the ferry landing.
